Volunteer Highlight - Brent Weaver

Brent is one of our Renaissance Men. Brent started volunteering with EFS in November of 2022 after seeing our table at the opening of the Sammamish Senior Center. Brent has a flexible

schedule and is comfortable driving to most destinations, including Seattle, so he’s driving a lot! On top of that, Brent is tech savvy and handy. We’ve sent him out to help many clients with computer needs/issues, as well as handyman fixes.

Brent also volunteers with the Issaquah School District as a VOICE (Volunteers of Issaquah

Changing Education) mentor. Brent’s pastimes include travel, pets, current events, computers and smart home technology.

Working with our clients is intrinsically rewarding to Brent. He says “people are always so grateful for the help. One client worriedly described herself as a ‘pest’, but she was just delightful.” Brent mentioned that the biggest skill he had to learn on the job is how to collapse a walker. The second one was that rules of hospital drop-off zones are only suggestions!
